Sophie Lapointe
VISION THERAPIST
Sophie joined our clinic as a receptionist and then transitioned into a Vision Therapist in. While Optometry was a completely new avenue for her, she ended up finding her passion in Vision Therapy which combines her desire to help others and provide meaningful work. Growing up, Sophie felt very anxious and insecure at school and found tasks like reading very challenging but was too nervous to voice her concerns in fear that she may be looked at differently. After learning about the visual system and how visual information gets processed, she made the discovery that she was struggling with a binocular vision issue. This drove her passion even further as now she strives to bring more awareness to learning related visual challenges as the visual component tends to be overlooked when exploring learning delays and roadblocks.
Aside from learning related vision concerns, Sophie is also skilled in helping patients with strabismus, concussion/traumatic brain injuries, dizziness/vertigo, and binocular vision dysfunction.
Sophie’s main goal is to welcome each and every patient in with open arms and be there to support them along every step of their journey. She believes that every person deserves the opportunity to learn and grow in a safe and comfortable space!
When she is not at the office, Sophie enjoys spending time with friends and family, cooking new recipes and playing with her French bulldog Daisy.
